The Parent 2 Parent® (P2P) programme has been developed by Herts for Learning. Herts for Learning and Thinking Schools International (Kestrel) work closely together on a number of projects, including providing support to schools wanting to take a whole-school approach to the teaching of thinking.
We all know that the partnership between school and parents is a key element in the development of a child and this programme is designed to help in that process. The thirty plus schools in Hertfordshire who have taken the P2P approach have reported very favourably as have the parents who have been involved. Having met a number of parents myself it was clear that they had gained significantly in their understanding of the development of their children and how they can help and become more involved in their children’s education. Schools report good numbers of parents attending and many schools are now running the programme for new groups of parents, in some cases for the third time. In some schools parents have been trained to lead the programme. Further details of the programme can be found here.
I will be happy to discuss the programme with you and to answer your questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
